Neuron's Image Editor: Redact and Annotate Evidence Screenshots

Screenshots are the evidence in a pentest report, and they often contain things the client should never see in a deliverable: passwords, tokens, hashes. Redactions are permanent. Annotations stay editable.

Neuron's image editor lets you easily redact screenshots and annotate images in a non-destructive and collaborative UI. Let me walk you through this quick demo so you can see firsthand how Neuron speeds up your team's evidence collection and reporting process.
During this web application assessment, I've discovered a SQL injection. I've already used Burp Suite's Neuron extension to create a finding for this issue. Now I want to add a screenshot for the report.
I'll start by capturing the area that I want to add to the report, and I'll switch over to Neuron, where I already have the finding open. I scroll down to the documentation fields, and I'll add the screenshot to the description.
Now I can use Neuron's built-in image editor to make some adjustments. As you can see, Neuron's already suggested some redactions, specifically this bearer token and the password hashes. I'll go ahead and accept those redactions.
I also want to add a couple of spotlights around where the action is actually happening in these screenshots. So, I'll highlight the payload and the response that we're interested in. I'll also number these so that they're easier to refer to in my documentation.
When I click save, Neuron will burn the redactions into the image, but the annotations are still editable. So, if I need to make some adjustments, I can easily do that even after I've saved.
Neuron's image editor helps you manage your redactions, lets you mark up your evidence in seconds, and produces a consistent look across all your engagements. These are just a few of the ways that Neuron helps you get your job done. Stop by today at neuron.ws.
